Welcome to MPPS

Milnerton Pre-Primary School, established in 1950, aims "to be the best pre-primary school for 3-6 year old children by providing quality education" and nurturing the whole child in a stimulating and safe environment where learning happens through play. We are an English medium school. The school has excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. Our garden area is large and well-equipped and offers: climbing apparatus, water play, a traffic area, a sandpit as well as a trampoline. The spacious and bright classrooms have various learning areas comprising of activities such as puzzles, educational games, construction, art, numeracy, literacy, music and movement.

Milnerton Pre-Primary is an independent, subsided school and is not affiliated to any primary school. The school is managed by a Management Committee consisting of parents elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). We are Christian based and follow Christian principles.

We collect information from you when you register for membership with MPPS.  Some information is voluntary, and other is required

  • Name, occupation and employer
  • Contact information including email address, address and telephone numbers.

As a voluntary, membership based organization we require this information to:

  • communicate with members (if your permission has been granted)
  • understand our membership distribution as regards areas affected by various community issues
  • validate membership according to voting rights as per the constitution

Our Education & Activities

Milnerton Pre-Primary runs the traditional daily programme and fosters a good balance between teacher directed and free choice activities. The children are also taught basic life and social skills. The classes are small with a maximum of 28 children per class. The children are educated according to the CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) Curriculum incorporating Numeracy, Literacy and Life Skills.

The children at Milnerton Pre-Primary participate in various fun events and activities such as: fun walks, fancy dress, puppet shows, picnics, Spring fair, art exhibition and Grandparents’ Day. We invite at least one educational/entertainment group to perform at school per term.

Morning care (including breakfast) and aftercare (including a hot lunch) facilities are available. All meals are paediatric dietitian approved.
